Wilden®* pumps are available in many different materials, so why choose plastic?
All Air Operated Double Diaphragm (AODD) pumps do the same thing, they use compressed air (instead of electricity) to pump fluids. There any many choices of pump body material, including: Aluminium, Cast Iron, Hastelloy, Polypropylene, PVDF, Stainless Steel and Steel.
So why choose the polypropylene or PVDF (Kynar) option:
- Corrosion resistance
- Chemical resistance
- Robust - Long life
- UV stabilised
- Light and portable
Wilden were the innovators of plastic AODD pumps in 1985. Steve Helg, Wilden specialists (40 plus years), commented: "plastic pumps were a real game changer when they came out, because nobody else had a plastic option" and "it made it possible to pump a much wider variety of chemicals".
